I couldn’t be happier with Fritz and Jim Brown

Gomes Rondy pic blog.jpg

3 years old and better on the third day than the first. Visible in the swing are Vader and Cowboy. Cowboy is 8 and the only one of the old guys to make all three days. Behind him you can see Alvi, Jim Brown’s sister.

Welcome to Fairbanks

My daughter, Lisbet, just flew into Fairbanks. She took this picture of the picture in the airport welcoming everyone to town. There’s no question that the general public likes to see the Siberians but it really annoys some of the hound drivers. So be it.

Dog food is expensive but sometimes it’s just fun to pass it out.

Pebbles got loose in early January. In late February it seemed like Echo wasn’t driving as hard as she normally does. Also Kari thought I had her too fat. We were caught by surprise but it’s not a bad breeding, merely bad timing. It looks like a crazy bunch in a good way.

I don’t know how most people feed their pups but this is how we do it and what we normally see.
SPEED IS ALWAYS GOOD.

First Solid Food

Posting from my phone works. Whether that will translate into more updates remains to be seen.

This is Echo’s litter enjoying their first solid food. They are 25 days old.

First Look at Echo x Cowboy pups

Echo with pups (1).jpg

Echo had seven pups the evening of July 3rd 2008. Four mostly black and three mostly white. We haven’t picked them up so don’t know how the sexes go but I will update when we know. (UPDATE 4M & 3 F)

Petra at the Show

Petra1.jpg

We were fortunate that Trish Kanzler and friends were vacationing in Alaska at the time of The Siberian Husky Club of Anchrage Alaska Specialty. Trish volunteered to show some dogs, giving us the benefit of her expertise in prepping and showing.

Judge Donna Beckman gave Alaskan’s Petra of Anadyr first place in the Sled Bitch Class. She was out of coat, of course. Her attitude toward showing best summed up by “endure”.

Although I’ll never make a breeding decision based on what happens in a show ring, it is nice to have one’s opinion of a dog validated.

Here We Go

Welcome to the experiment in diversification. Anadyr.com was through error and oversight allowed to expire. Redeeming it is proving to be a slow process. I had been rethinking our web presence anyway and this debacle proved to be the catalyst needed to try something new.

One goal is to deliver the news of events affecting our kennel in a more timely manner. Posting the the website virtually ceases once training begins in earnest. This medium will allow a picture and a few words to be uploaded without having to worry about how it fits into the big picture of kennel history or the structure of the main website.

The other primary goal is to comment on issues that are Siberian Husky related or race related but not necessarily belonging on the Alaskans Anadyr Siberian website.

This medium allows feedback in the form of comments. As many of my views could be considered anachronistic I look forward to generating some(comments). In an attempt to control comment spam, registration will be required and the first post will be moderated.
